Why are we doing this?
In order to keep the Sentinel system working at peak performance for end users we occasionally need to perform essential maintenance on the system.

Sentinel is a recognised safety system:

  • It is integrated with Network Rail’s Lifesaving Rules which state you should “never undertake any job unless you have been trained and assessed as competent”
  • It provides automatic alerts when cards have expired or the individual is suspended
  • It prevents unqualified individuals from working and causing danger on the railway infrastructure

Sentinel is a smart system:

  • It utilizes smartphone technology to validate workforce competence and authority to work via a mobile application
  • It features a durable long-life card
  • It checks identity and skills in real-time

Simpler

Sentinel is a simple system:

  • It checks credentials in seconds and reflects changes instantly
  • It features one card per person – with all competences embedded and easily accessible via the printed QR code
  • It means there is less need for users to carry paper forms
