Preparing to work during Bank Holiday

Posted in Communications

To help keep you on track during the May Bank Holiday weekend we are asking you to check the points below to ensure Sentinel information is updated before works begin:

Check a Competence
You can check the expiry dates for your competences and medical by logging into your MySentinel account via the Sentinel website then clicking the Cardholder link on the home page, or via mysentinel.me/Account/LogOn

Medicals and Sentinel Photo
If your medical or Sentinel photo are nearing the expiry date, they will need to be renewed. To do this, please contact your Primary Sponsor. The photograph guidelines can be found on the Sentinel website.

If you have ordered a new Sentinel card, please remember to destroy the old one as it will no longer allow you to be swiped in.Swipe In and Out
By using the Sentinel mobile APP, you can help keep yourself and your colleagues safe during trackside works.

The Sentinel mobile APP enables the Authority to Work to be checked for all cardholders and includes monitoring fatigue risk. By swiping in your team before going trackside you will be able to automatically check everyone’s:

  • Primary Sponsor
  • Competence validity
  • Drugs & Alcohol test
  • Medical certificates validity

Swiping out can assist with fatigue risk management by triggering the 12-hour rest clock in the background. To swipe out, your team do not need to present their Sentinel cards again to be at the end of the shift.

You can download the free Sentinel mobile APP from Google Play or the Apple APP Store and user guides are available to download from the Sentinel website.

All Sentinel queries should be directed to the Sentinel Helpdesk via email sentinel@mitie.com or telephone 0330 7262 222.
